A Baby Clinic is held on a Tuesday afternoon by our practice nurse for childhood immunisations to include primary immunisation, pre-school boosters, MMR etc. by scheduled appointment from the child health computer section of NHS Ashton, Leigh & Wigan.
The surgery also holds directly booked appointments with a doctor for 6 week baby checks and postnatal examination – appointments for this clinic are scheduled by the practice upon notification of the birth of the child.
Cervical smears are undertaken by prior appointment with the practice nurse at a time convenient to the patient. Please contact the surgery to book an appointment.
Chronic Disease Management
Chronic disease management appointments are offered to all patients on the disease register. Patients are invited annually. Eligible patients will be notified by post or telephone. If you cannot attend your appointment please contact the surgery to re-arrange and to enable us to offer the appointment to another patient.
Minor Surgery Clinic
The minor surgery clinic is run by both GP and Health Care Assistant in the designated Treatment Room by scheduled appointment only. All patients are listed by the GP for surgical procedures such as removal of skin tags, excision of mole / warts, incision & drainage of abscess and joint injections etc. All patients are consented prior to surgical procedure and all procedures are done under local anesthetic.
Travel Health Clinics
Travel health clinics are undertaken by prior appointment with the practice Nurse at a time convenient to the patient. These need to be undertake at least 2 weeks prior to travel. Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
